Two Massive Marvel Omnibus

Well I've been coveting these two massive collections for some time and finally gave in and treated myself.

I'm pleased I did as they look great.

Spider-man omnibus is 1088 pages (approx 40 issues) reprinting the earliest adventures by Lee and Ditko.

X-Static omnibus is even bigger at 1200 reprinting loads of issues from 10 years ago. But it's the whole run and I'm quickly becoming a fan of Mike Allred's art.

God knows when I'll get stuck into these but when I do, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Now considering selling some of my old Lee/ Ditko issues as the omnibus does the stories justice and I'll probably not really "read" the originals again. Oh, what to do!?

Order of the Stick Vol 4 - Don't Split the Party

Well this was one meaty volume! Plenty of pages and plenty of dialogue to get my teeth into. It's taken a few weeks to read but was highly enjoyable although there wasn't enough Xyklon or Redcloak for my liking. But you can't have too much of a good thing.

Speaking of which, this was the last of the compilation books available and I've just read on the OOTS website that the next compilation won't be until later this year. Boo hoo.

So my dilemma is - should I go back to reading it online?

Marvel Masterworks Captain America Vol 3

This hardcover volume (purchased for £14.99 incl P&P) fills the gap in my Cap Masterworks. When I get vol 7 I'll be almost up to my first original comics in the series.

This volume includes the 3 Jim Steranko issues which are just amazing.

Order of the Stick Vol 3 War and XPs

These OOTS collections are pretty meaty and this took me a few weeks to get through - not for lack of enjoyment - but because it is so long and the strips are wordy.

Great stuff and I'm on Vol 4 now.

Two More Collected Editions

I've heard that Fatale will finish with issue 24 so I reckon I'll read them in one sitting.

Daredevil is another of those nice oversized collections reprinting 12 issues or so. Nice to have but in my Marvel free year, this one will have to wait.
