Batwoman Vol 2 To Drown A World

I must admit that I didn't enjoy this volume nearly as much as the previous ones. It was probably due to a combination of the change of artist (J.H. Williams III only wrote the story this time) and the weird structure which just didn't click for me.

I will get the next one though as I think Williams is back on the art then.

Flesh The Dino Files

There are some comics from your childhood which conjure excitement and mystery just because you know about them but you never got to read them.

Flesh - which is a strip which featured in 2000AD Prog 1 - is one such comic. I remember friends at school going on about it and it sounded great but as I could only afford to read Marvel comics 2000AD passed me by. But I remembered Judge Dredd and Flesh. And now I've got the reprint from Prog 1-19 in my collection and I can see what the fuss was about.

Black Science Vol 1

Image have a nice policy of offering volume 1 of the the trade collection of each of their title at a knockdown price. This was £5.18 for example so great value for money and worth trying out.

Only my problem will be - will I get to read vol 1 before Vol 2 comes out?

The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch

It's taken me quite sometime to read this. Took a bit of time to get into it and then it was generally lack of time to sit down and read. But it was a good book. Well plotted.

Wolverine and the X-Men Omnibus

Another Omnibus, this time collecting the complete Jason Aaron penned run. Reviews were excellent and it was always predicted that an Omnibus edition would appear at some point. Well it didn't take long with the final trade only just going on sale I believe. Sweet.

Looks a nice well put together collection. Another massive book at 950+ pages.

Miracleman & The Rocketeer Collections

These two nice looking collections arrived this week.

I've not read Miracleman but it's supposed to be a classic of the genre and this Rocketeer is supposed to be lots of fun.

We shall see if both hold true.
