A Bargain at Forbidden Planet

The list price was £24.99 in the shop and Amazon has it on sale for £34.99 but the sale price was £6.99. This HC vol contains some early bronze-age Superman which is something I haven't got and as I'm interested in early DC at the moment I snapped this up as it will be ages before any Omnibus is released.

This collection featuring SUPERMAN #233-238 and #240-242 will give me an opportunity to see what this era is like. Covers by Neil Adams and stories by Denny O'Neil and Curt Swan. Should be interesting.

Saga Vol 7

Another new purchase arrived this week. Saga Vol 7.

It's been some time since I read any Saga. It wasback in 2013 in fact. But reviews have been constantly good and the trades are reasonably priced so I'm still buying it with the aim to read it in one go.

Teen Titans Silver Age Omnibus Vol 1

This is the 2nd DC Omnibus in about a week to arrive!

I wanted this because it contains a great deal of Nick Cardy artwork. He's an artist I've admired for sometime but didn't have any of his stuff.

Plus, I've been enjoying the New Teen Titans collections so I was curious on their origins. I read the first story , The Brave & The Bold #54 (June-July 1964), and it was silly but fun. These won't be anything like modern stories or even from the 1990s but I think I'm going to enjoy them. And Cardy's art, especially the covers, looks great.

I bought the book on Amazon for £58.49. It was shrink-wrapped but the corners were knocked a little. It actually looks worse on the pic above that it is in real life.

I lovely Darwyn Cooke cover too.

JLA Bronze Age Omnibus Vol 1

This hefty book arrived on Friday.

It's a lovely book so well put together. The paper quality is excellent, the original covers are all included before each story. In fact it's just what I want from an Omnibus and is nearly as well put together as my Amazing Spider-man vol 1. No letters page though which means Spidey is still the best.
