X-Men Masterworks Vol 2

This is quite hard to get (and hence expensive) in paperback but I've managed to pick up an early hardback version of the Masterwork vol for £15.

It's probably not the greatest comics and the early Masterworks editions were not quite as well put together as later ones but for the price, I'm satisfied.

Order of the Stick Vol 2 No Cure For The Paladin Blues

Well, although I've read these OOTS strips online already I think it's time to get the book collections. I've already got vol 1 and Vol 2 (above) arrived this week. More on the way!

I will re-read soon with my 9 year old son (the more adult jokes go over-his-head...mostly) soon as he's currently showing an interest.

All New Batman Brave & the Bold

My 9 year old son and I are enjoying reading my Brave and the Bold trades at bedtime. He could probably read them to himself but it's fun to share them together!

Marvel Masterworks Thor Vol 12

I wan't this but wasn't going to pay £32.50 or more just yet for it as there are were other things (like Christmas) I needed to save my cash for.

But when it came down to £17.45 in the new year that was an opportunity too good to miss! I've no idea what these issues are like as I've never read them but a collection full of John Buscema artwork...I'll take that!

The Order of the Stick - Start of Darkness

This was great. Genuinely laugh out loud funny especially when Xylon was transforming in a Lich.

It's actually inspired me to buy more of the reprint collections rather than just reading the strips online.

Summary of 2013!

As I have mentioned on occasion - this blog is to help me try to keep to a "promise" of only buying as much as I'm reading.

LOL. I wish I could keep it. Although I've improved slightly from my six month progress report, the numbers are still bad.

So good on books and I've read a fair amount of Star Wars Edge of the Empire roleplaying material too.

But definitely going to cut down on the purchases.

This year I am going to concentrate on non-Marvel universe material for my reading pile which means I'll be fresh to start from the beginning sometime in early 2015

The last new purchases of 2013

Fantastic Four Vol 2 and Morning Glories Vol 6 both purchased and delivered after Christmas.

With 6 volumes of Morning Glories now to read I will read them soon.
