My 100th post is a review of "300" which I went to see at the Showcase last night.

This is based on a 1998 comic by Frank Miller and a quick flick through the 5 issues this morning showed that the film adaptation was very faithful.

Now I love comics by big Frank but somehow things don't seem to translate well on to the big screen in my opinion. "Sin City" was a little cold and this suffers a little bit of that too. It was basically one big long fight, but since the various battles in "The Lord of the Rings" we've seen it all before.

When the Persians brought out some huge and savage man, I just felt like shouting "They've got a Cave Troll", and the resulting fight was very similar.

Oh well, certainly not a bad film, but not one that I would want to see again.
