Wolverine # 53 by Jeph Loeb and Simone BianchiI've just read issues Wolverine issues 51-53 which continue the long battle between Wolvie and Sabretooth. Whilst the art is gorgeous the story is interesting too.
Wolvie's having recurring dreams/nightmares about an ancient race call the Lupines who seem to slaughter at will, live forever and bear uncanny resemblances to both Wolvie and Sabretooth. Hmmmmm. Is this a clue to Logan's origins?
Whilst this is all well and good, it seems the lure of Logan's past is too much to resist for most writers at Marvel, because as soon as anyone gets to write him - they go straight there. I also thought that "Wolverine: Origins" was going to be covering this aspect. Nevertheless, this story is intriguing. Storm and the Black Panther make welcome guest stars too. I hope things are clearer by the end.
Still a strong title in my opinion. Rating 8/10
